The Art of Beer is a one-of-a-kind hardcover celebrating a decade of bold visual identity and artistic collaboration at Garage Project, New Zealand’s most creative brewery. Published by Penguin Books NZ it features over 100 iconic labels, complete with original sketches, artist insights, and stories from the co-founders.
Showcasing work from 45+ artists, the book documents how Garage Project redefined craft beer branding through pop culture references, comic-inspired art, and a commitment to creative risk-taking. From Pils’n’Thrills to BEER Beer, each label tells a story. Often playful, sometimes provocative, always original.
Launched with a gallery exhibition during Wellington on a Plate, the book is part visual archive, part brand memoir, a celebration of beer as art and storytelling.
